Hi there,

I'm hoping I can get a bit of guidance.

I picked up a purple Tang that looks like it has seen better days.

I don't know if it has lateral line disease or what, the fins have also clearly rotted away.

Looks like there's maybe some Ammonia burn as well as it did come from a tank where an auto feeder fell in.

The fish is very active and eats very well. Being fed green/red nori daily, along with pro biotic pellets and lots of garlic.

I want to try and help this fish recover and any advice would be really appreciated.

Andrew

I wouldn't feed any garlic. Add frozen meaty foods to your list, especially Mysis.

This is severe erosion and possibly bacterial. I cant encourage the possibility of recovery but assure clean sterile water and you can treat tank with ruby rally pro for skin. Garlic boosts immune system slightly and wont do much with this. Add selcon vitamins to foods and feed foods such as :
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
Prime reef
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract

Ive got a purple tang with severe HLLE that I rescued. Warms my heart you took this little guy in! I feed my tangs all kinds of algae and frozen food, nori all the time, and soak food in selcon, garlic (not all the time) and vitachem! Mine has really colored up, well the rest of her not affected by HLLE. Im so excited you gave him a second chance!! Post updates often, I love rescue fish :)

Thank you all for the advice.

They don't sell Selcon or Ruby Really Pro in the UK, so trying to find a US supplier that will post to UK
