Hello everyone,
could you please assist me in identifying this red algae on my sand bed? My tank is approximately three months old, and I have experienced two phases of algae growth. Initially, I had diatoms, followed by green algae. Currently, I have noticed this red algae mainly on the sand bed. It does not appear to be slimy, so I believe it is not red cyanos? Thank you in advance.

Cyano, common for young tanks, and older ones that get sunlight.

Thanks a lot guys! I will be adding an additional power head, I suspected one MP10 might not be enough for my Red Sea 170. Also thinking about adding some beneficial bacteria. I will give it a chance but if the corals start to get covered I think I will go for chemiclean.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
