I really like the looks of this wrasse. I'm wondering if anyone is keeping a group and how well do they play with other wrasses, in particular, leopards (M. bipartitus and M. meleagris)

thanks........chuck

I like to think of them as Red Devils as opposed to Red Velvets...

They're one Cirrhilabrus which goes one way or the other on aggression, and when they go the wrong way they're pretty darn mean. They're almost always aggressive with Flames (C. jordani).

Not one I'd chance with other wrasses personally.

Females are hard to come by, and somewhat hard to distinguish.

Below are pics of my trio. Scott's Fairy, Red Velvet and Blue Sided. The Scotts was getting spooked by something and is now deceased. For me, the Red Velvet is the more docile one. The Blue Sided isn't bad either. They squabble when it's food time, but other than that they're fine. I never saw what had my Scotts spooked. I think it was probably the Blue Sided.

Thanks for the input all......I like those blue sided as well, maybe just a mix of a few different ones to go along with the leopard(s). Think i'll pass on the red velvet tho...but they sure are pretty.

thanks........chuck
