still a bonus\benefit
what about pistol shrimp and shrimp gobies, both benefit from each others roles and if on their own they still may do just fine. but when together life becomes that much easier. same with the clown and the nem

lol, aint disagreeing with you, im just saying its not an obligate symbiosis like most people think.

I would say the relationship between clownfish and anemone is one of symbiotic mutualism as both species benefit from one another...
