Before anyone starts talking about nutrient control, manual removal, or emerald/pitho crabs I've tried all these and they either didn't work or their success was short lived. Chemical treatment seems to be the option I haven't explored yet. I've heard of people using Vibrant, dosing 3x the dosage of flux rx, or dosing hydrogen peroxide. Which of these options is the safest and most effective option that will have minimal impact on corals (I have a mixed reef) and the beneficial bacteria?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
