Sexing Bangaii Cardinals

I heard that you can tell the sex of bangaiis by the number of vents they have on their undersides, males have 2 and females only one. Is this a pretty acurate way to sex them?

I'm thinking about getting a couple and would love to try and breed them. I would rather start off with a pair and not a school of them.
The lfs I'm going to be getting them from breeds them so the fish I get will be tank raised and I can be pretty picky about the ones I select.

At the same time if I were you I would ask the breeder if he/she has a way of telling them apart. Even using this method it can be hit and miss. Good Luck!

Thank you for the info that is exactly what I was looking for. I will ask the breeder to, maybe even ask if he has a pair that he would be willing to part with.
