I have this coral here and I noticed it is starting to get a white layer in the middle. I lost one smaller coral before when my tank was not ready for them. This tank has been up for 1 year. Should I be worried? Not familiar with LPS yet and would really appreciate help learning.

It looks like the flesh receding a little bit. It happens naturally as the corals grow. Little by little that flesh above the white area moves up as it grows. How long have you had this coral and does it open up to feed?

Oh ok that’s really cool! I’ve had it for about a month. I noticed it opening up to feed more when I first got it, but lately not as much.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
