I suppose this is the best way to introduce my self to the community, my name is Eric, I've been around the forums for a couple months now here and there.
Currently have a fluval 13.5 that's been running about three years now. There have been many up's and many downs with stability and corals and after three years if it is just now beginning to settle down and stabilize. I can possibly do another thread for the evo, but this thread is specifically for squeaks_reef.

Squeaks is a nickname my wife and I gave our first child (River banks), im sure an explanation is in store for the name. lol

I don't physically have the tank currently but hoping to pick it up this weekend. I'll post pictures later in the thread.

the tank is a 60 gallon display with an eshopps older gen sump,i believe it is 25g. It currently has a stand my brother in-law built however my wife and I are not in love with it and dose not fit with our furniture and decor in the house. The stand is solid and well built however I do not like the underside, id prefer a clean well lit area as I will be spending a lot of time in the sump area making adjustments.

With that being said, I will be sourcing a stand in the near future.

I will update the thread as I make progress, in the mean time please feel free to ask questions and just general conversation.

Thank you for stopping by

p.s.
if anyone recognize the eshopps sump id really like to know the model number.

Stocking plans for squeaks_reef are as follows

Two clowns
extreme black snowflake and a black and white misbar clown carried over from my fluval 13.5

That is currently all I have in the evo as far as livestock goes minus the cuc.

To be purchased is either a yellow Coris wrasse or a melanurus wrasse. no sixlines lol:face-with-tears-of-joy:
Orange blue eyed Anthias
Lemon peel anglefish
Two spot bristletooth tang

This is an idea of what I want or would like to keep, however I realize wants and what the fish need to be healthy can be dramatically different. So, if there are objections on fish please by al means correct me and and kindly recommend replacements.

Also, I am open to ideas from the masses for stocking. Remember this is a 60 gallon display, as I am not dead set on my stocking plan those are things I would like.

I am mainly into soft coral,
zoas mushrooms palys gsp (no kenyas) :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

some lps coral

Quick question #reefsquad
Would the tank be ok like this for a couple weeks while we acquire a stand?
Absolutely not.

That rimmed tank needs to have the rim resting on a stand. Putting the weight on the glass will be a disaster.

Would it be better to remove the bulkheads from underneath and sit on something level for the time being?
The frame on the bottom should sitting on whatever stand you can come up with. Ideally, the while frame is supported, but the 4 corners would be good enougb temporarily. The glass shouldn't be touching anything. 2 x 4 lumber works well.

I suppose we will go back and get the original stand. Thank you for your help

Only reason I didn’t want the original stand was because it was incredibly cramped with the sump, and hardly any room for accessories.

Hey there, quick little update on squeaks reef.
Have some brs goodies coming and want to know your guy’s thoughts on setting up a tank to be successful.

Attached is a screen shot of the goodies.

I’ve only had one marine tank, this will be my second. I want to set it up right. And have a headstart so to say.

Let me know what you guys think.
