In February I saw two of these fish at my LFS. I did a little research on my phone while there and didn't come up with too much other than they live with Diadema urchins or branching corals and eat the tube feet of the urchin and also the copepods and the eggs of a commensal shrimp. They also...
My experience they are really tough to get to eat. I have tried twice with no long term success. I had them in with pipefish that also are tough to get to eat, and are not fast eaters, and still no success. Really disappointing as i think they are really cool looking, and kind of surf thru the water when swimming. Maybe others have had success, i did not.
Not sure if they eat pods, the tank i had mine in with the pipefish had lots of pods, and still no success. Again just 2 data points on my end. Perhaps both i got just were just too stressed from shipping etc.
This is my clingfish. They are really hardy and will eat just about anything I feed. It took about 3 days using a turkey blaster before it finally tried frozen. Now it can’t get enough. 2 times a week it also gets a ghost shrimp. Don’t let its size fool you it has a decent sized mouth. Which is why the striped clingfish is labeled “expert”. The smaller mouth tends to make it only want live food in my experience.
