that's one reason why they are spreading. I've only fragged zoas by placing a tile or plug close to it and after it grows on it I cut the string with a razor.
they are mostly covering a few small tiles and a large softball size rock. but they have spread from their "island" and plugs, I have an ABS bottom so they are stuck on good. there's not allot of corals to keep these in check in this tank.
Looks really cool to be honest... but I understand the frustration. Definitely fragging would help. The also don't do well when "crushed" so fragging where you can and adding tiles on top of the remnants would certainly help slow them down.
Rasta’s are my favorites as well!
but I'm not educated on zoas so I was hoping for a few experiences, not cutting the polyp seems hard to do... I'll watch out for brown goo??
Unless you can frag with a piece of substrate attached for plugging, I prefer to let them creep onto plugs themselves like your doing.I'm thinking a long process of just letting them do thier thing lol, maybe some super glue on some idk I just don't want to get sick
lol yeah I got them for free as a couple polyps, time goes by quick.....What you have are Rasta zoanthids, they aren’t cheap once you get larger colonies
I'm past fragging I need serious maintenance lol before they take all the good real estate and make everything look like rasta zoas
