Hey everyone,

I have a 40 gal breeder setup as a frag or prop tank. I am going to be re-setting it soon to do some work on the plumbing and put it on a new stand.
While it is down I was thinking of adding some type of substrate. (right now it is bare bottom)

What is the best substrate? Live sand. Crushed coral. Shell grit or crushed shell. Or bare bottom.

Thanks for you input,
Steve

For a frag tank I would do bare bottom. IMO. :)

I agree with Rev...for frag tanks...bare bottom is really nice. It is much easier to maintain the cleanliness of the environment, and a lot harder for pests to hide with no sand!
