I inherited a maroon clown and a chevron tang. Then a month later I bought my first fish...a bicolor angel at a bag sale because I really liked the colors and it was relatively inexpensive. Learned the hard way because the angel lived for about a month and never really ate, while the free clown lived for 3 years.

Maroon Clown Fish. I bought her in 2007 for my beginner tank. I still have her in my current setup. It's been seven years and she's as mean as ever. I have no regrets buying her. I'm glad I choose her and that she has survived this long, not that I'm a terrible reefer but I did have two heaters malfunction and kill everything off except for her.

Sailfin Blenny. Yes and no on recommending this fish. Yes because it's peaceful and a good beginner fish. No because it is a boring fish... Even time he moved it was a huge event, most of the time he was just sitting there.

Snowflake Clown and Pink spotted shrimp Goby for me. I have had my tank going for about a year and the clown has survived 2 tank wipeouts (due to rookie mistakes) an is still going strong (and mean). I have a Fuzzy Dwarf Lion and a Snowflake Eel also and the SF Clown is the fish that I watch out for when my hand is in the tank. haha
