Beginner Topic Why Chasing pH is a Trap for Beginner Reefkeepers

As a prospective reef keeper, doing his research, this article regarding "beginners mistakes" I found very useful. Simple idea of Stability is best, don't chase the perfect rainbow.
Thank you.

I'm so glad to have read this article and this forum . I just bought a PH buffer cause my ph. dropped from 7.8 to 7.4 . I read this article then searched the forums and learned that if i just turned my protein skimmer on it would raise the PH . Guess what it did its now at 8.0 . I'm still in my first week of my first saltwater tank And this is all so overwhelming . I almost want to give up when i read some of your "REEF NERDS" articles on here . Giving up is not in my nature tho " I'm a soldier " I'm going to listen and take it slow read and learn Thank You very much

Solid information. As a beginner I appreciate the article implying the KISS method. (Keep It Super Stable of course)

Over generalized, not constructive. Befitting for a category “opinion pieces”, not a reef chemistry article.
