I don't care if it was a piece of a plastic lip that held up a frag plug. Please share your ingenuity, and if your like me, share your Frankenstein creations! HA! :D

I am not a big DIY guy, but if you are in this hobby long enough it seems to turn you into one. Unless you are loaded and really lazy.

I have made frag racks, mesh screen lids, and designed, baffled and plumbed my sump. And am currently designing a stand for my new frag tank.

I made my own stand. I'm not really a DIY guy so I thought I would overdo the stand to make up for my lack of know how :)

It's for my 4'x2'x2' 120

Staining and finishing the skin. ( I don't have it on the tank because I like the look without it better :))

SDguy....LOL! Nice.

I built my stand. I wanted a one of a kind, a piece of furniture. The frame was done already. I modified the stand, trimmed and stained it. Lowered the floor.

That's the biggest thing I've done.
It has four claw feet, raises it about 6". The feet support the whole thing.

Oh boy... This is going to be a very long list...

DIY T-5 lighting system, stand and canopy, canopy cooling system, many different frag racks, including one for a frag tank, ATO system with fail safe floats switches, 2" threaded strainer for closed loop, overflow boxes, carbon reactor, gfo reactor, kalk dripper, skimmer stand, sump with glass baffles, modified HOB filter for QT, DIY Kalk paste, frozen fish food, sump bubble tower, felt filter socks, magnetic rocks, frag plugs and discs, DIY plumbing, sump light rack... That's all I can remember at the moment. I bet there is more, but I just cannot remember.

Now my DIY doesn't just go to the reefing hobby. I also DIY in many other areas as I have fun building instead of buying.

plumbing. ro/di unit water stand. refugium/sump plumbing system. cooling system for canopy. light system and racks my own fish food

Stands, canopies, sumps, ATO reservoir, light rack, kalk reactor, frag racks, mesh tops, LED fixtures/accent strips, media reactor, acclimation box, fish trap... and I'm sure a few more that I can't think of.

This a DIY heaven :) please people I enjoy reading this, my friends we share the same Passion of creating and inventing, think it all starts in the garage somewhere ......

Oh boy......stands, canopies, sumps, light racks, carbon reactors, electrical centers, ato setups, sump-vac, fan brackets, probe holders, bubble towers, backgrounds, overflows. And a frag display tank with light canopy for frag swaps.

I think I have a power head somewhere in the house that was not moded ......... looking, just about everything in the hobby + you name it, reactors,Programmable Logic Controllers, 555 timers, power supplies, timers, light fixtures, wave makers, ozone generators, skimmers, stands, aquariums, its like a sickness, I go I buy something, look at it ........and it needs fixing :) thats me :) do i save any money doing that ? no, do i get the weired pleasure of improving something ( 1 out of 3 if you lucky) yes. Do I think some day i will actually invent something ? I already have :)........

I will post the weirdest I ever built, back in 2009, thats when I reached the "CREATOR" stage :)
