Sweet man.It's about time.
If you need any help let me know bud.

Zef!!!!

Yeah it is about time. I first brokered the deal in Jan. Had to wait for funds.
I'll probably need help with the calcium reactor.

ok guys return question..
the tank has 2 returns, currently the previous owner is running 2 Mag 9.5 on them. One goes directly from the sump to the display and the other Mag is running trough the 1/4 chiller before going into the display tank..

now this doesn't seem to be efficient enough..
1: is the flow from the Mag 9.5 to much for efficient heat exchange?
2: i dont like how the display will get 2 different temp water.. (sure it will mix eventually)
3: running both returns to the display off one pump intersected by the chiller doesn't seem feasible also.. because of the heat exchange or am i wrong?

am i over analyzing this?

I wouldnt stress the different return water temps too much. Ideally, the difference will be very minor and if it isnt pointed directly at a coral you should not have an issue. I would worry a bit about water flow that fast through a chiller but look up the spec of the chiller online and it will give a max flow rate, see if you are inside the box.

If you need help with the calcium reactor, let me know via PM, I have the same one and can provide some tips.

good luck and have fun!

I always had one return pump go to the chiller then split into my return lines into the DT on 1 side. Just make it's not pointing on any coral and good low flow around 500gph
