Beautiful tank. Looks like you're going to be having a lot of fun! Too bad about that gouge in the corner.

..just kidding about the gouge! :)

Looking good. That's some very clean work you did in the sump!

Thanks. But I ended up pulling the sump out and organizing it a little more. Plus the drain was noisy so I got some PVC and fixed that.

Toxic, what gph did you end up deciding for your sump? I suggest maybe 10x the display, but that's just me. The third seat was hilarious... reminds me of the new show "Raising Hope".

I ended up sticking with the 2 Mag 9.5

The lfs recommended staying with the 9.5 because of the 1.5" drains.

Man it's soo much harder scaping a large tank.

My RSM was soo easy.

I'll probably have to wait until I move the 60lbs or rock from the RSM.

Ok guys need help on this one.

Just did a water test, the tank has been running since last Wednesday so it's been a full week. using a RSM test kit this is what I got.
Ph 8.4
Alk 1.7-2.8
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0

Even when I 1st setup my RSM I had some ammonia/trates/trites but I got nothing. I put a cube of mysis and rdf in the tank 5 days ago to rot, but still got flat zeroes.

Built the tank with 140lbs of new livesand, 40lbs of live rock and 40lbs of dead/dry rock.

What should I do wait some more? Start adding CUC?

I'd wait a bit longer. There was no spike in your parameters at all? Was the LR from an established system? If the LR was from a pre-existing system it may have prevented any real cycle along with the live sand, but you'll usually get some die off in transport if its something you just bought which should create a bit of a spike.

This was the 1 st time testing since the tank have been running.

The LR was from an established system and also kept in a tub for a week before I got the 120 up and running. The DR was also in the same tub for 2 weeks but only in with the LR for 1 week.

Also forgot to mention that I'm getting some spots of cyano blooming

Just came across this.

It's not at all uncommon to see no spikes in ammonia and nitrite in new setups that use live sand. It's all part of the reason to spend the extra money over dry.

I love those tech tanks. Unfortunately, they have become very hard to come by since oceanic stopped making tanks. I can't even find them on CL anymore. Goodluck with the build

Got my frames done. Hopefully I'll get the net in time tomm.

Don't want my jawfish jumping out.
