calling all chicago r2r people. whats the top five LFS in the Chicago area?

I'm sure if I put this in the right area. However, I will be vacationing in the Chicago area next month and would like to see some great LFS. So what are your top five picks of cuurently open stores. Please none that are not around anymore.

It would be helpfull if you can include some info like address and description of what makes it The best.

Midwest coral farms in highland park isone of the best places i have ever been to Midwest Coral Farms - Welcome I can p.m. you some pics i took the last time i visited. Aquatica is ok but they seem to be a lil high$$ in my book..

Yeah aquatica is they only place under an hour that pretty good. I get price cuts because the owner thinks I'm a nice and polite kid ( I'm 17 haha) I get like 25% of price tag.
I got a pair platinums for 250!

i get the discount to.
the only drawback is that dreaded cook county tax!

i usually go to aquatica or i just order from premium aquatics.

If you are downtown, Old Town Aquarium is a must see.

now if you want to see large tank displays i would say aquarium adventure in hoffman estates. there is also another one in bollingbrook, but it doesnt have as many displays setup.

oh yes you might also want to checkout the shedd aquarium. :D

Midwest coral farms used to be good. Now they are just trying to move stuff ASAP and don't care about the live stock. Everyone went crazy when they were selling clams for like $15 but half the clams people brought home died. They brought in a new manager who used to work at another store in the area and nobody liked him there and still nobody likes him. They had potential but that was lost and they shot themselves in the foot and really screwed over quite a few people. They aren't well liked and are only in it for the $$$$$$

Shedd is the big reason for the vacation. I haven't been there in ten years and one of my daughters has never been there. It is such a great place to visit.

Old Towne for fish!!! I wouldn't take a fish from Midwest if they gave it to me...I was mad when I walked into their shop. Midwest did have some nice looking corals, but I don't want to support a place that has such poor looking fish. Aquatica was a decent place, I have a couple of nice looking sps in my display I bought there.
