Passed Scopas Tang- Diagnosis NEEDED

Hello all, I’m almost a year into the hobby I have a 90gal(4ft) setup. I’ve had a scopas tang since January without any issues. It was skinny when I purchased from the lfs but was starting to fatten up. I moved around some rock work (was only working on one side of the tank so did not remove my fish rookie mistake I know)to create more hiding places within the two months due to my scopas scratching its side when trying to go into the cave style rock I have. Following this it did not go under the cave rock anymore and found a new area under a large arch. I thought this would give more area for territory within my tank and all would be well. Following the move around everyone in my tank seemed to be doing alright (one clown, scoops tang, lawnmower blenny, opossum wrasse, long nose hawkish, and tomini tang plus a few hermit crabs). Within the following weeks my scopas tang (who was tank boss) started acting like it wasn’t feeling well, wasn’t ripping into nori like usual, mouth wasn’t chewing like normal to do the ripping motion, was still eating mysis, and other frozen being broadcast fed to the tank but not exhibiting the normal grazing behavior I knew him/her for. I realized when researching it could be HLLE from carbon, which I had added into my filter a few days prior. After removal two weeks ago, it still didn’t seem to improve also my other tang was not affected by this. None of my other fish are showing signs of stress to my knowledge. I’ve done the large water changes, but my scopas tang was still exhibiting stress colors being much more passive and not eating correctly. I noticed weight loss further, which was concerning yesterday I removed from display and put in a QT tank with general cure since it’s what I had on hand and had medication coming to treat for potential parasites or fungal. My tang unfortunately passed this evening. I have photographs which I will attach my biggest concern is everything else in my display tank at this point.

I’m not sure of a diagnosis given everyone else is OK but would like to catch it if possible so I can get the medication and treat the entire tank if needed. At this point, I’m not sure if my scope tang was hurt following rocks moving around maybe impacted it’s ability to eat and the lack of nutrition is why I started seeing HLLE and he basically starved to death over weeks, which would be extremely sad, or if it’s a carbon issue why it didn’t get better after removal and why he was getting so skinny or if it was potentially a parasite or something I visibly couldn’t see making him sick, which is in turn the reason I am on here that way I can prevent further loss. Breathing was a bit rapid in general but this morning it got worse.

The timing, scratches and some fish not being affected all point to flukes being a possibility.

Curious about the water color - it looks sort of orange? General Cure shouldn’t change the color of the water…..

I can’t tell if the water is orange, or if the plastic plants are just making it look like it is. If it is actually tinted orange, there must have been some reaction between the three chemicals that you added.

You can use General Cure to treat for flukes in your main tank as long as it doesn’t have corals or other invertebrates in it. If it does, you’ll need to dose plain praziquantel:
