I'm with ya. Got a coral banded, a pr of bloods and a pr of skunk cleaners. Can't have any smaller shrimp though, due to my marine betta pr.

Blood is next on my list once I move out the arrow crab. He did his job of eating bristle worms but now he's doubled in size.

Do your shrimp breed?

I'll be looking to add a Blood shrimp and a pair of cleaner shrimps for my tank. I do enjoy seeing them in the tank . Lost my last two shrimp that were in my tank. Time to get my tank back looking presentable with all the critters I can add to my tank

My only shrimp, a cleaner crawls on my arm and it feels like a spider which I hate. I don't think he'll bite me or will he?[emoji887][emoji889]

Three sexy shrimp and a anemone shrimp in my 10 gallon coral qt tank. The anemone shrimp spends all its time just laying in the middle of the rock anemone. The sexys host different corals from time to time. They are the reason I want to set up a shallow reef with feather dusters , zoas and small shrimp and some blue leg crabs. Love the little guys.

My peppermints did. But the babies died the first day. They disappeared anyway. I greened the water and haven't seen em since. Still feeding the bucket with my fingers crossed.

I've read that arrow crabs and coral bandeds are mortal enemies, crab will kill the shrimp I think.

I love my Coral Banded, he has a lot of character, good sized....I've seen him hanging upside down with White Tail BT Tangs's tail getting a cleaning....same with my little Valentini puff's tail etc... I think it's really cool. Would he be aggressive towards a peppermint or something similar (it's a 135g tank but he's all over the place)??

I always like keeping shrimp in the tank. Cleaners are nice because they will sometimes be allowed to clean the fish and they release eggs on a regular basis which feeds the corals and the fish. I remember working at the LFS when we had a couple dozen in a tank I would let them clean my hands. Nothing like a manicure from shrimp. They get into all of the little cuts and scrapes to clean them out. I did have a pair of coral banded shrimp in another tank and they also would breed on a regular basis and were fun to watch. If you really like keeping shrimp consider a specialty tank with a mantis shrimp.

I've been considering getting a coral banded shrimp (I have a bristleworm infestation that is beyond healthy levels). Would any shrimp lovers recommend them (and why)?

I keep a pair each of blood shrimp (which I rarely see) and skunk cleaners (which I see every day at feeding time, and intermittently through the rest of the day), as well as a half-dozen peppermints (are you sure? when was the last time you saw them? ... I saw one last night while prowling with a flashlight!) and five sexy shrimp, which are hosted by a "garden" of maxi-mini carpets. I'm considering adding one (or a pair) of the smaller (gold? blue?) coral banded shrimp after the upgrade is up and running, but won't be trying arrow crabs any time soon, as I also keep a small garden of feather dusters.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
