I finally got all of the parts for my 40 today!

Last week I built a frame for a stand and a 10g sump and leak tested everything. Today I'm going to be drilling the back, attaching the overflow, and hopefully putting paneling in the stand

Here's a current pic

I'll update with the progress

Here's the system with some dry rock and a temporary overflow that I built to test the sump

I'll be using mostly live rock from my 55g fowlr to seed this tank but I bought a little extra on an impulse [emoji28]

The tank is painted and drilled, overflow is attached, and the stand is coming along nicely

Welcome to R2R! It's looking good! What kind of system do you plan to keep? Is this your first?

I'm planning on keeping mostly LPS with a light bio load of a few clowns, some shrimp, and maybe a few other fish. This is going to be my first reef tank but I've had a 55g fish only setup for about a year and a half. I'm using the live rock, sand, and livestock from that tank to start this one once it's all set up

As someone who went with a 50g cube, I can tell you for sure, that a 40b is a much better choice. If I had the room, it's what I would have gone with.

I started out with a 55 bowfront and I couldn't stand how limiting it was. I'm excited to have all this extra space to work with!

The last of the corner trim is being glued and a coat of stain went on the two side panels. Almost done! Now should I build a hood[emoji848]

Also received this today. I'll test it out in my 55 bowfront while I'm waiting for the 40 build to finish

i personally am a big fan of that pump and the Jebaos in general. At their price point they can't really be beat. Just have realistic expectations, these are good pumps but are no Tunze's or EcoTech's
