I ordered "abalone" from live aquaria and received these. Are these just regular nerite snails?

The only abalone i can find in stock online are from Hawaii. They grow them to eat but they also ship live abalone. Are all abalone similar in needs?

What could be causing this? Is it hermit crabs? Or not enough algae? It's for some weird reason still moving normal dispite half his shell being detached..

Just thought I would share pics (sorry they're cell pics) of the abalone I got on Live Aquaria. He was huge at least 3+ inches. He is part of the cleanup crew in new setup. As you can see plenty of algae for him to eat. I had also put some nori in there for them but no one has touched it...
