Hi everyone,
Lately I've noticed that Red Planaria flatworms have started appearing on the front glass of my aquarium. The tank is almost 3 years old and everything else seems fine. What should I do about them?
I also have two questions:
Why are they so fragile? I wanted to observe one under a...
I was playing with my microscope looking at algae i got from the bottom of my copepod "farm". I saw something and made photos and video of it. On one side it had some sort of tube that was moving left and right like it was searching for food(like an elephant tube) and on the other side it had...
I wanted to buy a microscope to see the life in my water from aquarium and my fito and coreopods(i think thats what its called in English) cultures. I want to spend maximum 250$ but at least see something. Till now I use a microscope from a supermarket that is for kids and the only thing I see...
Hello folks:
I suspect I have diatoms so I took a sample of my sand and analyzed it under the microscope (the sample was taken using the "10/0.25 (160/0.17)" lense with the WF10X (DIN 18 MM) attachment).
Sure enough, I do see diatoms but I also see some "worm looking" critters that I have...
Hello all! First post and first serious tank. My tank is 4 months old, I’m seeing what I believe to be Dino’s. I have had very low nitrates and phosphates so increased feeding to help raise them. Bought a microscope to help identify what kind. But I have no idea what I’m looking at lol. Any help...
Hi,
Would anyone be able to identify this species? It’s motile, green, and oval shaped. I cultured it in standard salinity saltwater.
Other than that, I only have a Chinese name 扁藻.
Sorry for the poor quality microscopy.
Thanks,
Adam
Why would my fallowing tank of about 1 - 1.5 weeks be cloudy? Should this be of concern? I have a microscope if you'd like me to take a sample. Tank is 4 months old, fallowing for diseases for 1.5 weeks so far.
I am looking to identify my dino species but can't really spend a whole lot on a microscope. I am not exactly sure what magnification I would need but I was guessing 400x (4000 times) in order to properly see them. My main concern is price but also that I won't waste my money on some shakey...
