0 nitrate

I use sodium nitrate manufactured by LOUDWOLF on a BRS doser. Add 5 tablespoons sodium nitrate to one gallon RODI water. I dose 40ml per day to maintain nitrate of 3-4ppm in 110 gallon tank. Initially, I added manually about 3 ounces per day for few days to raise it from 0.

This is the same stuff I'm using. I couldn't bring myself to put stump remover in my tank. The loud wolf product is reagent grade. It costs a few bucks more, but worth knowing it's pure to me.

But this is how I did it safely on my acro tank
Total volume of water 210 gal
2 table spoons sodium nitrates to 1/2 gal RO/Di
Started out dosing 30 ml 3 x a day (90)
After a few days went from 0 to .25
I bumped it up to 37 ml 3 x a day (111)
After a week my nitrates were reading 3ppm almost 4ppm. Last night I changed doser to 34 ml 3x a day.
It didn't take much. That's why I didn't mix up a full gal. Hope this helps.

Alright you have roughly the same total volume as me, so ill dose the same amount. Just wondering, is this something we have to keep dosing and do you see yourself stopping anytime soon with the dosing?

My acros look pale as well, but they are slowly encrusting the frag plug.

I would give it a few more weeks to see if there is any improvement.
Other suggestions;
Bring down photoperiod a bit
Aquavitro fuel is a good source of nitrogen as well (be careful of overdosing, can cause algae).

My coal is to stop dosing the No3
I did turn my skimmer to idling.
I took my GFO reactor off line
Because your Po4 will automatically decrease while dosing No3.
I will test regularly. Im going to start slowly lowering my dosage of No3.
When Im stable with the nitrates, will tune skimmer in very carefully, so as as not to strip No3.
If needed, gfo back on.
And feed a little heavyer then normal.

Thanks for info, and already lowering dosage. And forgot about turning light schedule shorter.

Update, going on 3rd day without dosing nitrates.
Have my skimmer , skimming lite. My No3 has been reading 5 ppm

As you can see, it doesn't take much time. I thought I was going slow.
Only mix 1/2 gal. Make sure you test daily. If your Po4 is high, don't worry, they will come down. If they are already low, and you run gfo, I would recommend stop running gfo after you start dosing No3.
As of now, I'm not getting a reading on Po4, But I have some in tank,as I see a very small patch of HA.
