What is that? Fishscooper?

It is supposedly safer than a net at catching fish. I don't have one, so I can't say either way. But from what other members have said, it's seem to work quite well. Plus, it's made by a R2R member.

I use the fish scooper and it’s a one of those things you never knew you needed until after you use it

I’ve captured fish in shipping bags and acclimation buckets with the scooper and it’s been a stress free experience for the fish (and me). Zero damage to the fish and they don’t get startled like they do when a net is introduced.

I’ve also used it as an acclimation container for new corals and taken photos of them in it that came out clear and crisp.

I’m personally a fan as I’ve lost two fish due to net damage by the LFS. Watched it happen in front of me. Every fish store should have a few of these, and really we should also as fish keepers. Nets are stressful and dangerous, this is a more humane alternative

We’ve also had a lot of hobbyists start bringing their scooper with them to stores just to avoid net damage altogether like you mentioned unfortunately some stores its more about speed then safety. — pretty wild. We have been first hand to big fish distributers and what you see behind closed doors is sad.

We Just posted some clips using it as a feeder and a fish trap too on our instagram— it’s cool seeing how creative people are getting with it.

We’re just a small company — no big corporate backing or marketing team behind us — so most of the awareness is actually coming from real hobbyists like you. The feedback and word-of-mouth from the Reef2Reef community has meant everything in helping more stores and keepers discover safer options for us that is what is most important. This hobby and the cost increase of livestock has drastically changed the experience for many reefers and the last thing we need is to cause unnecessary harm to our new friends.

You're absolutely right — the shipping costs aren't just high, they’re borderline insane. In fact, we actually pay significantly more for shipping than what we charge on the website.


We recently upgraded our packaging to better protect the FishScooper because carriers like UPS and Fedex started handling boxes a bit too aggressively. The new packaging has increased our shipping costs quite a bit, but we felt it was worth it.

The last thing we want is for someone to wait excitedly for their order, only to have it arrive damaged. That’s just not acceptable — so we made the change to make sure your FishScooper arrives in perfect condition.

Oh actually I believe that is due to the taxes, not the shipping since some states require more taxes. The shipping cost is a fixed price.
