This is the tank this morning.

Trigger still has left everything alone.
Corals seem to be getting bigger.
Before I do anything today I test nitrate.

These hanna testers are the bomb and it looks like it went up a couple points which I expected.
Trying to figure out this algae scrubber.
Might be a bit small but it definitely helps with the algae inside the tank.
Definitely a big topic of discussion on here with a heated debate
I'm not very aggressive about things, more curious than anything else.
See what happens after water change.

Don't be embarrassed. It isn't a contest and sometimes it's OK to open up and be yourself.
That's how we learn in this hobby.
Behind every tank is the person who does it and that's just as important as the tank itself.
Thanks to all my friends on this thread who have proven that true.

So water change is done. Took about 15 minutes and I didn't spill any water on the floor. It's a miracle.
Today I thought I would test alk.
I test it about every other week. I don't have any difficult corals or anything that would likely use it but even if you have fish only I really don't care it will never really stay the same.

It's right on couse I see. My corals tend to like it on the low side, but I've always run it about here so they are used to it.
I think you're OK running it 8-12, just can't shock them with anything.
I use IO which usually measures out to 10.
But with 15 gallons changed its not going to change much in the tank.
I'm not going to be overly complicated here so I'm going to add a little buffer so I know I don't have to think about it all week.
Seems to do the trick, at least for me and my situation.

I really like it at 0 but I'm OK with this.
I know the GFO is tired but I think I have till next week. I can always test in a few days.
I started running GFO again, which I hate to do but it is working for me.
Don't use a lot if you maintain and run appropriately.

All of this is not for the experienced reefer who is going to find all this boring and won't read the thread anyways.
I'm hoping you newbies or anyone else may find all this useful in a hobby of expensive and overly complicated explanations and whatnot.
There is a lot of misinformation out there and I'd just like to stand behind what I do and know.
Maybe that will mean something to someone.
Any questions just post just ask.

Once you get the kit the refills are cheap.
They're so easy, at least these three are.
