Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Rented a van. Bought a 1000 pound table lift and picked up the new tank...today
Full 36 inch over flow on left side covered by the red blanket in the pic. The wall for the over flow is black...It just made it width wise in the van...lol

Gorgeous tank!

Congrats! I don't know how you'll be able to stare at that beauty sitting empty for longer than an hour !
its moved into the second living room now inside the house so I can look at it...
The over flow has three sections so I can do alot of pre filter media before it goes to the sump.
There are three 1 1/2 pipes are in the center section. so the other two sections over flow and under flow into the second section. The second section also gets water over flow from the tank since it has weirs also.
So sections 1 and 3 can have media with all three having a pre filter felt pads is what I am thinking. easy to change
The entire over flow box is 36 length x 6 wide x 24 tall(minus the over flow weirs which are 2 inches.
any ideas please chime in....ding ding lol

The overflow box has the volume of a nano reef on its own! I'd like to give some ideas but I've never dealt with custom setups like this, whats the sump going to look like have you planned that out?

May I suggest printing out some photos of fish and coral and taping it in there so you have something to look at? 😂

The sump is going to be made from my current tank that is splitting at the lower seam. So I am going to cut off the bad side, glue a new left panel on and make a 5x30x18 sump out of it.
The width will be amazing to work with. Get all the big stuff inside to prevent leaks.
Yes the over flow box will hold about 22 gallons

So there's definitely some work ahead before it's all setup, sounds like it's going to be a monster. Good luck!

yes a big swap game...and 55 gallon garbage cans...and the making of 200 or so gallons to add to some of the water being reused from the old tank...
And then putting two gems tangs in the cans with the current tang crew in hopes they get along

That's awesome my friend! Great to see this. I plotted the sun based on the orientation of your shadow and its relatively to the contour of the Earth and finally know where you are! Now we can go fishing, and jump out of planes together! Don't shoot, im friendly. :)

Oh don;t forget ...my lawn is full of fun things to step on.......like bouncing betty etc...poof lol
