Ideally 10-15 , maybe feed a little more or cut back on size or frequency of water changes but everything looks happy.

4.5 is fine, good in fact. Depending on phosphates you could probably let it go a bit higher.

Ok makes sense I recently did a 20 gallon water change so that might’ve caused it to come down a little bit

I usually do a water change every few months now. Did one over the weekend.

Hi all hope everybody’s doing well. It’s been a minute since I’ve been on here, but I’m experiencing a bit of an issue right now with my tank. Currently the tank looks the best it’s ever been with the four years that I’ve had it. I rarely test my alkalinity, calcium, magnesium pH nitrates and just kinda go off how the tank looks because it’s everything he’s been super consistent but yesterday I measured everything and a lot of my parameters seem to be a bit off. My pH is at 8.6. My alkalinity is at 6.3 my calcium at 490 my magnesium is at 1500 and my nitrates are at 4.5. A pH of 8.6 seems a bit high annd alkalinity of 6.3 seems to be very low. I checked my doser and it turns out that the alkalinity line was clogged up and it hasn’t been dosing recently. I got it cleaned out and it’s now pumping out alkalinity so I’ve upped the dose and will try to increase it over the next week. Will that help bring down my pH? I’m not sure if a pH that I will cause any problems. Let me know if you guys have any recommendations on what I should do.

I forgot to mention your tank looks great. Getting the alk up a bit is a good idea but no rush as everything looks happy and healthy.
