I can't begin to thank everyone for all of the kind words and support. The generosity of this community is beyond compare. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this possible. My wife Tifney and I thank all of you for helping to ease some of the financial strain that life events like this bring. At this time we have closed the gofundme to donations.

I can't stress enough how important early detection is. If you feel ill, notice a change, find a lump, bump, or anything else, have it looked at. Don't put it off, go right away. That made all of the difference in my situation.

My doctors acted quickly, just a couple of weeks between diagnosis and surgery. My surgery went well. They removed multiple spots that were of concern. Biopsied each of the spots, and did find cancer. The good news though, is that all subsequent scans and tests showed that the team of doctors is certain that they have gotten all of the cancer in two surgerys and before it could spread and do any long term damage. We are cautiously optimistic that this is the case, but remain guarded given the nature of the type of cancer. There will still be many trips to the doctor, visits with oncologists, tests, and ongoing concern. I know I will be a nervous wreck each time another appointment is coming.

Take some time to send positive vibes to everyone in this community, your local community, and your family today. Especially during this time of the year, there are many that could use it more than you know. Sometimes just an encouraging word, or a smile can make all the difference.

Great to hear Frank! It’s good to know you will be closely monitored from this point and anything that could show up will be caught very very early. Believe it or not, all the monitoring will be viewed as pain in the rear years down the road, but it’s necessary!

That's actually the best way to do it (as far as I know). Super glue isn't ideal, but sometimes I use it anyway. Sometimes I ziptie a bit to a rock or shell. Wedging it between rocks works great if it doesn't blow away. Macro can get a foothold and start growing from there.

Depends on the conditions. If the box is in a temperate building, then it might be OK. I've had PomPom survive in a tank with the pumps turned off for weeks. That's a bit different than being in a little bag in a dark box in the cold, though.

When it arrives, check the branches for translucence, and trim off any of the transparent parts.

It can cause problems. I'm currently battling a bit of dinos and some GHA on my macros:

Best thing to do is to trim off that affected branch:

If it keeps attaching to your macros, you've got a problem and need to get that GHA under control, either through nutrient reduction, CUC or chemicals (preferablly fluconazole--other algaecides tend to cause more problems). Manual removal always a must. Note that any chems you throw in there will also adversely affect your Macros.
