Is that a sport? Kidding, Soccer lol ( another word I don't like )
I've got to admit, REAL football ⚽️ is growing on me. A family from El Salvador bought the house next door to me (because you waited too long) and their little boy introduced the game to my little boy. He explained to him how important it was in his home country, so my son fell in love with it. He's playing baseball right now, and he's a great little baseball player, but I think he'll be in soccer after the season is over.

I played soccer my whole life until college.
Loved every minute of it.

You know oddly Joel, I've never ran a skimmer. I still have trouble testing 5 ppm nitrates. It's crazy how unique and varied each reef actually is.
Agreed John.
I've always had one, since the beginning of time and I can't see how they can hurt anything but some don't run one at all.
Running an experiment here and I'll let you know how it goes.

I can't say for sure. I admittedly a newb, ut I'd say it would definitely help with lower nutrients if that's what you desired, but I'd imagine ph and oxygenation arr improved with a skimmer. My ph is always just fine, but right at the lower acceptable levels.

It seems like so much fun, Joel. I didn't realize you were a baseball AND soccer guy!
In the bay area sports were year round.
Baseball and soccer were at different times.
My two loves as a kid.

Good evening everyone!
Hello Amanda. I hope you had a nice positive day. I'm usually not up then, but I always use your nice good mornings as my bookmark to start the smorgasbord thread for the day. Have a good night

Yeah John going for oxygenation, a lighter skim maybe leaving some nutrients in the tank.
I have no green algae growing inside the tank.
That's what I'm going for.

Sorry for not being quite active lately. It's been nice outside so I've been spending time outside. Yesterday I saw white spots on my carpenters wrasse and royal gramma. I got pretty carried away and researched it the whole night. I fed them with some garlic and ginger soaked LRS. They seemed to like it, and the white spots are gone as of today. They may or may not come back, but I'm hoping that the fishes are now strong enough to fight them off. I read from Paul B. That live earthworms are great to feed your fish, so I think when I find one I'll chop it up and feed it. I'll try to look as normal as possible doing it, but I'm sure my neighbors already think I'm crazy :winking-face-with-tongue:. Anyways, good night folks!
