Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Boy the title definitely sounds familiar. I reminds me more of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
The scene I was trying to show was them in a psych hospital shocking each other with the electroshock machine. They put this thing on that looked like a wrestling helmet with electrodes on the sides... I remember it being quite funny, but again, I was a junior in high school... so it's been a while, let's just say that!

Both my wife and daughter have anxiety so I completely understand.
You're young Camden so seek someone to talk to so this doesn't cripple your life later.
This is a great place to air all of those worries and you can use us as your therapist if you need be. 😊
On the electrocution side of things, I won't tell you the whole story TLDR but I had a tank overflow and stepped onto the carpet next to it and was shocked all the way through my body, head to toe and I only lost a little bit of hair.;)
You'll be fine.
Joel, you're an awesome person

Did you get Rocky’s autograph? He has always been one of my all time favorite actors!
I was running down the street after them but they both bailed so fast...

Just a surface skimmer on that one.
All the hobs with skimmers are junk.
Except there is one with everything, hob and it's reputed very good.
It's made by aqua ready.
Amazon or BRS has it but it's a little spendy.
I know a sump is a no go so I would look for an internal skimmer, just put it in the tank.
Tunze makes one.
They're very good and they overflow back into your tank, not the floor.
Exactly Joel. I forgot about the internal skimmer! Tunze osmolator I think? No the osmolator is the ato. @cdemoss01 definitely check this out. Joel is spot on here.

Did you ever find the hair you lost Joel? I had a similar experience when I was put in the psych hospital. Before my lobotomy they used to put electric pads on my temple to send an electrical current through my brain.
No Kev never found it again. :loudly-crying-face:
Smelled it though...;)

Looked a bunch of them up quite pricey will not lie.

I'm being offered a free remora pro from an old old friend I just have to pay shipping. Do I take it?
Free is always good. If nothing else, use it as a backup. Like I said, 2 hobs with varying filtration media would help in the absence of your skimmer, but look into these internal filters/skimmers too, buddy, like Joel recommended. Yes I'd take it for free. Again. Not to beat a dead horse, but we need numbers to help you with what to run.

Well certainly up to you.
That's also a HOB I believe.
They're good skimmers and have been around a long time.
I've never used one personally.

I've heard they are good, also very expensive. I wonder if people still use them?

Yes yes I need numbers. The internals are extremely expensive though.

Right there... that explains it! Reminds me of a scene from the movie "Strange Brew"! If you haven't seen it, you should. It's an older movie... like 1983. I remember watching numerous times when I was in high school.
You reminded me of this OG jam!

I don't know I've never looked for a new one, always seen them used on ebay.
They honestly don't come up that often.

I agree. I don't think they are really in use anymore reefocto seems to be dominating the skimmer market.

Ebay.
One of the ONLY pieces of equipment I buy used is a skimmer.
No break in time
