Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Maybe you are already doing this, but I found the easiest way for me is to cut the stem off the frag plug with bone cutters and then use a glue like BSI (thick gel) and glue it onto the rock. Works pretty well and rarely needs to be remounted.

I’m in and out quickly because the Lemon Damsels really like to attack my hand if I get close to their spot. Apparently an 8 ft tank is not big enough for them. Don’t get them, they are jerks.
The worst fish I ever had. Mine would attack corals! He didnt pick at them, he'd knock them over, ram them them into the sand and cover them with it. I had to take my entire rockscape apart to catch him.

This was him leaving.

I cut the frag plug then have used gorilla glue and a combination of gorilla glue and coral epoxy stuff.
I've never used gorilla glue or epoxy, but that combination is interesting.

It always feels wrong to handle the corals lol. I hate the whole process, but we have to do it!
I hate it because I can never get the frag to stick where I want it...

No because next to placing the frags moving the rocks is my last favorite because them they don't balance right again. ROFL
We have the same reefing fears Amanda

Haha, funny you mention that. I only have two in the tank but one does exactly that to any coral not glued down.

It’s funny John, decades ago I was so gentle and careful. When I got back into the game, every time I would frag I would watch a video and they would man handle the corals. They aren’t as delicate as we think.

I totally agree Kevin, but these bigger meat corals get super grumpy when you handle them too much. It is a weird feeling to me lol. They produce a ton of slime and last time that happened it killed some of my corals.

He hated everything! He even hated crab shells. It's a shame because he was a really nice looking fish
