Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Question for anyone that has participated in an SBB coral auction do you feel like you get good deals on the corals? Or do you feel like you are paying normal prices that you would pay elsewhere?
I hardly ever buy from auctions. I find the best deals when they start taking 30, 40, and 50% off wysiwyg. I think you have to sign up for texts to get the codes. Gonis, torches, and acros are their specialty in my opinion

Since I have been feeding heavier with a mixture of food/bacteria/snow and CRT concoction my tank seems SO much happier.
The extension on my torches is insane!

@TheNative192 Thomas, what's the plan for the top of the arch? Sps?

Yeah so I think I am going to go more SPS heavy in this tank. I honestly will not add corals for a while though. I may move a frag or two into the tank from other tanks just to make sure things can survive but my main goal is more of a fish focus.

I specially went with the Nicrew 200s which are way over powered for this tank so I should not be limited with what I can add. I can get crazy par and then flow I have way more than needed.

I got two AI Orbit 4 Gyres and then the two Nicrew 200s which have three lenses are super powerful.

I really hate auction sites. I just feel like 90% of the time the price is way higher than a discounted sale price. Doesn’t matter if it’s coral related or other items I just feel like it’s a trap!

Im definitely going to have to Pickford brain about that Rock. You mentioned it yesterday and I made a mental note to talk to you about it. Do you spot, broadcast, or feed it both ways.

Yep you can always dial em back if needed. Then as they sps grow, they'll shade the areas below them a bit anyways. Looking forward to the build buddy

They are good eating. You just need 10 of them to make a meal though
best to add to a vegetable style soup, adds a lot of protein to the soup, I quarter some up and make buffalo squirrel wings

can be, if I see something I like, I set my max bid amount, if i don't win it, i wont overpay

I would tear that up. Good grief Jimmy! Id love to try your recipe. Ive never had squirrel done right. I can make some excellent dishes with rabbit though

I have a question for the more handy people here (lol)

So I am having someone quote me on replacing my water heater and I was going to ask him give me a quote to hang my RODI unit under my sink and add a diverter valve to make it easier. I assume I want the black line which is the drain line to be plumbed directly down the drain. Is there anything else I should ask him to do for extra precautions or I should be gucci with just that instructions. I have the BRS RODI Unit with just three lines, red for inlet water, blue for good water, and black for waste water.

Also does anyone know if this is safe to use in an aquarium?

it states its used to top an aquarium (eggcrate), does not say in the water. Some plastics leach chemicals into water The ro/di hook up should be good, as long as you have a cut off to the ro/di, or you will continue to run waste water down the drain.
