Pic of the day . This piece has had the time of it . Was big and had

long polyps when I got it. Then it did the Goni I’m gonna withdraw and pout and now it’s starting to slowly open up again. Ironically it’s kept adding new polyps even when in lockdown mode.
Goni's tend to like "dirty" water, my nitrates and phosphates spiked 8 days ago or basically when detected from testing. 30 on the nitrates and 1.0 phosphates. my blue and yellow goni's have been doing good anyway, but the very small goni I have that I figured could not be saved has perked up a lot since the nutrient spike. I think i lost a turbo snail, not the one with the clam on it. Been looking for the shell, my diamond goby probably covered it. I am sticking to my maint. schedule to slowly bring the numbers down and hopefully the goni stays with me.

A little motivation… apologies for the glare. I need to hang up a dark sheet or something to block the window.

Jimmy my phosphates were running about 2 . and my nitrates were about 17 when I had goni’s and at that time they looked perfect . Then about 2 yrs later they all died . One right after another . I won’t try them again only because I still don’t know why they died . I had some beautiful ones .

I thought this was cool, enjoy.

Yes I did go down there, now Im trying to find my way back out!

Kevin, every time I turn my screen sideways on one of your posts, it shows this...

I tend to run slightly elevated nutrients, 10 and .1 , my tank looks good there so i try to keep it there. sand stays clean, and corals seem to love it. Its all LPS excepts 4 frags on a holder towards the top of the tank

I saw your tank and it’s beautiful . I’m having a silicate issue with mine . Just don’t know where it’s coming from . I’ve changed out my complete 8 course di system and it reads 0 .

I have not delt with that issue, I must be lucky

Here’s a bunch of other Gonis from this morning. Getting back to regular WC and now feeding a couple times a week have helped all of them

Beautiful Steve! I've had the worst luck with gonis, but I got this Alveopora from corals.com. It looks gold/pink in the tank, but has several different colors.

Hey, me too! I put that up during college football season and then delete it, I don’t know why it’s still there?

Seems like I heard reef roids were designed for goni's, I use Reef chili or the water from my frozen food feeding to the fish

That’s ironic. I have never been able to keep Alves for more that a few months. Supposedly have pretty much the same husbandry but no real luck overall.
