Welcome to the Smorgasbord!
I got rid of all rowaphos and or any other phosphate control years ago.
No pads, floss or any other manual filter materials as well.
I now use a rock filter in my sump, where the water comes in from the overflow onto a rock pile then on to the skimmer.
I've experimented with lots of things since the beginning of this thread but now I run biopellets and a skimmer only.
Nitrate stays stable in the 30's, phosphate I don't measure anymore.
The trigger has never touched anything.
He'll eat snails, worms bristleworms and shrimp, chew on rocks, etc.
But he's never touched a coral.
I'll post a picture today.
Not Rocks 🪨.
Run Rocky Run ! lol !! 😝

Last week when I was in Petco (Columbus GA) their display cube had dirty glass, first time i seen it this way. hard to see it because of the glass, will get a better pic next time. this is just for display.

I cant say anything anyway, my 20 G AIO has the ugly stage starting up. Going to try and maintain the water parameters I want with water changes and hitting it with a lot of copepods.

Just watch and keep your phos and nitrate up and you should be fine .

I have minimal live stock, I have been feeding a set amount which appears to be just a tad overfeeding. numbers are good but that may look different once the algae starts consuming it. I plan on going at it a little better than i did with my 40B.
