I guess I'm still collecting opinions on if a repair is even possible. A new tank is cost prohibitive at this point so if it is destined to fail and deemed unrepairable, we will have shot glasses filled with fish and corals strewn around the house. How many Tangs and Foxfaces do you think I can fit into a 15 gallon AIO?

Not many but you could get a large plastic inhabitant to house your fish while your tank is being fixed or send it out to get repaired. You mention that the company you bought you tank is out of commission, is that true ? .is there anyone that you know that could replace a the side panel for you , maybe another company that sells plastic tanks ?

Any repair would require temporary storage for the inhabitants. I'm getting ready to empty out a couple of largish storage bins this week and will probably look to get two 40 gallon ones.

There is a local acrylic tank fabricator nearby and they build tanks for aquariums, acrylic pools, and lots of custom tanks. Here is one they finished a few months ago for a LFS in the area. They also do some repairs but since my tank is a sorta-large acrylic AIO it presents a few challenges.

If I do need to go the new tank route I will probably have to go with a sumped system, not the end of the world but I prefer to keep plumbing to a minimum and not getting down on the floor more than necessary. Plus I'll have to recommission the frame skins as I need to keep it curious-hands-proof.

Yes, but I'll probably split the tank during a rebuild as most of the rock is garbage and one of the fish needs a time out.

This is actually the very first option I looked at. There is a TSC about three miles from our home and they have it in stock. For about $30 more I could pick up a Marineland 75 gallon tank as well. The problem is I don't have a lot of space left to store junk. The smaller bins would fit on my shelving and I could just take stuff on the shelves now and bin in when done with the repair/replace/quit cycle.

There is someone in the reef to reef club who used to to work at an acrylic tank shop or still does . Maybe reach out to them .

He's in California. He built the tank for @TheWB that is almost identical to mine.
