I was perusing email this morning and noted that the Shop app gave my old address . Just left a DM to them with correct info. And went into the Shop app and changed it. That coulda been a huge oops.

Talk about a great save! I really would hate to have them die.

I have lots to catch up on again. But it's getting early.

The pyramid started acting a little off this morning. Did 4 doses of maracyn 1, and today would have been the fifth. Eye looks slightly better. But I didn't want to risk the last dose. Did a 50% water change. Raised the PH slightly since it dropped. Added a fan to the room to help and opened a window. Pumba perked back up and was back to normal. Eating like the piggy he is again.

Guess I will just continue to monitor water quality and do daily water changes and removing all leftover food and excrement. Eye should heal in a few weeks on its own. If not I will reevaluate and try something different.

This guy is so fun to watch. Wish him luck. Will check back later

I have an honest question for you guys. I've started adding some of the boxed natural saltwater to my tank. It has really made the occupants look happy, and visually improved the entire reef. But recently I've been hearing of people that have used water they collected from the ocean themselves.

I know there are biological benefits that could even out perform some of the bottled bacteria you buy. I was thinking about going and collecting some, since I live less than a mile from the Gulf. It wouldn't be used for large volume water changes, just maybe as a method for innoculation. Im thinking something like a quart at a time. It seems to me that exposing the corals to their natural biological elements may help them to build their resistance to things that pop up in our tanks from time to time. I just don't want to overwhelm the system with it all at once.

I would collect the water as far from shore. As I could off the end of a very long pier, and let it sit for a day or so on a bubbler, to raise ph. above natural salt water ph then strain it.

Any thoughts?

Doesn't Paul B do this? I would be in in knowing if it helps. I am a bit paranoid and OCD. I wouldn't sleep worrying about the bad things I would possibly bring in. Not saying that it would happen. Just saying I would stress to much personally.

But if you do I would be curious of the outcome. Would live rock have the same benefits?

Forgot to tell you , We went to Handels in Orlando and I’m sorry to say they were terrible . the one guy was smoking something because we were the only customers and it took him 25 min to make a cone and one ice cream shake . The cone wasn’t shaped right and was about to fall . He didn’t give full scoops and I got 3/4 cup of coffee ice cream that he didn’t whip . He basically put the ice cream and added milk while not whipping it . The black cherry ice cream had no cherries in it . Even though we made him fix them I seriously doubt they will be in business long . I was a little upset , they are not an exemplary Handles store and there trashing the history . I probably won’t be back . I guess when I come to Boardman will be the only time I’ll have a great ice cream .

Sorry this happened to you. I now only go into new places that look busy.
