Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I'd say that is almost certainly a contributor. The nsw is going to be 7.8 to 8, which is my target dkh. The growth is better as far as colors and growth. I'm not a huge fan of quickly grown, spindly, colorless corals. But stability is the key. If you've been mixing between NSW around 8 and 12 from the mix, you may have had a mini spike/drop.

What I would consider doing:
Check alk and get a current reading. If it is much higher than 8. I wouldn't add that much NSW at once, as it'll fall too sharply. I only do 5 gallons at a time in my 40 for just this reason. Of course now I'm closer to the alk of the NSW, so it's not an issue. I strongly advise that you swap one container and observe before continuing with the others. This is just my analysis of what I've seen, and what makes sense with the math.
I was planning on one or two at a time to gradually adjust actually. Petsmart made the choice easy as even though I tried to get 5 thru DoorDash , the local store only had one. So I added it in a change. Dasher got a nice tip as it was based on the larger amount. So now I’m waiting up to five days for about $110 in reimbursement.

@steveschuerger I picked up a small favia colony that I think is similar to yours. I hope that it turns out even half as nice as yours one day!

THAT is super annoying. I respect the effort though. I am lucky that my lfs sells it, or I probably would've never tried it, or continued to purchase it honestly.

But I think even that amount is going to give you a positive response from your corals, and the system as a whole.

What brand is it again John? I think my LFS sells Nutrisea?

The other one that I have tried is owned by PetCo so easier to get maybe. But it’s plain sterilized sea water and you have add all the other stuff. I can get this at Chewy I think. I also bought AquaForest Hybrid sea salt from Bulk. Reef as I’ve used it before and runs lower native Alk.

Hey Smorg!!
Work has been a dumpster fire!

But…. Here’s a Goni pic

I ordered 3 more from Chewy. Right now if your order is more than 49 you can get 20 off the purchase

Yes sir, but….thats why I love ya!

Ok, I’ve never shown the “dark side” of my tank. This is where my Godzilla, purple mystic bounce and pandora shrooms live. Also, the Holy Grail Micromussa, and the Blastos that are growing so rapidly I need to mount them on bigger discs.

How long have you had that bounce?

Hey Bailey! About a week after I brought it home. The momma has dropped two babies in the past 3 months that are about the same size as her now.
Funny thing is, I bought it as a ‘no name’ shroom at the LFS for $10 who had it under maybe 50 PAR. I brought it home and it sits in about 150 PAR and it had really taken off!
