Well Lets get it started some of you on reef2reef have seen pictures of this setup here and there. I posted the Octo surge about a month ago now its time for the rest.
I will do and show one tank at a time and how they came to be..This is a serious budget build as in "No Cash" done what i can with what i have and been given over the past couple years.
First tank is a 72x30x15 tall. This came from a broken 220 perfecto tank that was replaced at a home but the movers dropped it too hard and the bottom shattered. I was able to take the tank apart and was able to keep all my fingers. I used the front panel as the new bottom then cut the back glass down the middle to make the two new sides. The two side pieces where cut to make the "ends" of the tank. Unfortunately the ends did not cut well and shattered so i replaced with 1/2inch new glass ends. Tank went together really easy maybe 20 minutes to get it setup. Cleaned off extra silicone and placed a nice healthy bead then a credit card in the corners. The bottom silicone is pretty thick to make sure the lower glass is in place for life.

I have a tunze wave box mounted on the the drain pipe. It works great maybe to good i ran a bead of silicone against wall becasue the wave has gotten pretty high. The tank is valved so i run it a tad low too keep the wave high with out blowing over the side. Lighting is a Aqua medic 250x2 phoenix 20k 150x1 Radion 20k along with Acan A207 4ft strip 460nm led.

The next tank is the 96inx24x12in starfire. This glass came from a 500gal that split at the bulkhead holes. The person who built it years ago placed the drains on top of each i could not even get bulkheads in because they hit each other..This was a sloppy build i hated this tank was so happy it popped. Works for me now

Plumbing layout. Everything runs off a modified hammer head pump i have a mag 24 running a wavy seas in the 265.
All tanks drain back into the 300 Rubbermaid.
Octo Surge - YouTube
Surge tank also dumps into the 300. I wanted to incorporate the 550 container so surge was first thought. If valve is open full on surge the tank will run constant "no Surge". I also have a double chiller set up the 11/2hp is hidden under the 265 and a 1hp custom chiller under the 96in to cool it and the 72in tank. It gets pretty hot in south florida i can run 75 no problem the 1hp chiller hardly ever kicks on. The fans over the 300 and the 72in will take 5-10 degrees off the water easy. I can tell the are off just by looking at temp. Click on the fans and the second chiller is off..The Eco runs more often as its the only tank with halides or it is just off temp. Temp in tank reads 3-4 degrees off what the eco chiller temp display shows. Never trust what a chiller tells you temp is. I also painted the eco chiller black to match the stand and give it some paint. I do not like rusty equipment so it was taken apart and painted inside and out.

Chillers.. I made a fan shroud for the chiller under 96in tank. It helps x10 now it even pulls stuff off the floor. The exhaust from chiller blows through the gap..see pic

I don't know if I missed it somewhere, but how do you control the climate in the garage, especially living in Florida.

I have insulation in the garage door that I added and a exhaust fan pulling air out of garage. Hottest I have seen ambient is 87 tanks never go past 78 it is a hot garage any ways water stays at 76. I dont worry about ambient temp as long as water is cool.

Do you have any pictures of the 72x30x15 display
