I have not posted much on this forum but am a veteran of that "other" site, Have gone through countless setups in the past but finally decided to have my biggest reef to date. Dimensions are 48" x 24" with 21" height, the tank and stand are both from Planet aquarium, i chose a framed tank because i still dont trust rimless long term (i have issues lol), glass is starphire front and sides. This will be an sps only reef with 1 lps (my wifes only coral), fish will be my regal angel plus a few fancy wrasses, maybe a tang but not decided yet. Equipment: couple maxspects for flow, finnex titanium heaters (2), ati 8 bulb t5 dimmable fixture, sicce pro return pump. will be doing a bean animal drain, plumbing will be blue with sch80 fittings and valves. Sump will be a trigger system with icecap skimmer. It will all be controlled by an apex. This has been in motion since January and i apologize but we will be going very slow, currently unemployed and i had to put a pause on reef spending unless i want my wife to kill me. I have the tank, pumps, heaters, apex, plumbing and skimmer, will be getting the sump soon for plumbing purposes but have to wait on light until i get a job. I currently have about 50 lbs of rock cycling in a trash can, i should be on schedule as originally planned, as i wanted to cycle rock for a couple months to get all the phosphates out. hoping to be up by early May but i still have some challenges to figure out including if i want to run a new dedicated circuit for tank.

Time for an update, it is in the house, running but still have a ton of things to go. Need to cut off the shims, get new rocks in tank, aquascape, get my light schedule right, get my electrical panel going and get an ato setup.

moving further along i got part of my rocks in the tank, have not lost any of my sps but have yet to setup my skimmer and will need to get my aquascape done. I need to also get going with a stock list.

Thank you, I had not updated, i have had some issues along the way. I got into some algae, which I expected and currently keeping it contained to the back glass and the maxspects, all my sps browned out. After finding some inconsistency in fritz salt I decided to switch to tropic Marin pro. The bleaching was not caused by the salt but the move in general. After the Browning event all sps stopped growing and started to recede at the bottom, I glued the ones I felt needed help the most and left the others. Once everything became stable frags have started to gain color again and growth has started up. I'm still not anywhere near where I want to be but for now I just test and watch.
