120 SCA Island Peninsula build. My dream build fully automated with basement fish/sump room.

I have been out of the Hobby for about 15 years but after finding this site and all of the advancements in reefing I thought I’d give it another try. I had decent success back then with softies and LPS. I’m excited to give it another try. I have never done a thread and I’m not very good with this stuff. I’m going to do my best to post a few pics of my build as it comes along. It’s going to be a slow build as I work a lot in the summer months on my farm. It will kick in high gear late fall to winter if not before. Thanks for all those that have inspired me to this new adventure.

I kinda have a basement fish room too. but I still put the sump under the tank.
oh and I am a huge fan of peninsula's too!

I finally got a few hours to work on fish room. Heating and A/C ductwork done. Automatic humidity fan installed. Outlets and light wired.

Update. I got a little more done. Plumbed hot and cold water to where my sink will be. I ran another electrical circuit so I have 3 outlets on separate circuits to hopefully avoid 1 kicked breaker shutting my tank down. I also got most of my Sheetrock hung. Getting there slowly but surely.

Here is my tank 120 gallon SCA 24X48 it’s going to be a peninsula. I’m going to build a short cabinet under it and around overflow side. It’s going to be kinda of like a coffe table aquarium with no top. It’s a little bit of a gamble with location but I think it will be pretty cool and different.

Yes I'm thinking cabinet will be a foot to eighteen inches high under the tank.

Here is the cabinet my Bashea SS-60 sump will set on. I cut out a little and put 2X6s in for additional support. These cabinets are the cheap ones. I was afraid it might not hold up the weight long term.

Thank you all. I’ve been planning and borrowing ideas from other setups for about a year. I’m glad it’s finally coming together.
