Hi, my name is Torrey , I just got back in the hobby after 10 years, and I am in the process of starting a new build after all this time , I recently put deposit down for a 180 gallon Marineland Aquarium with dual corner over flows in which I plan on using a lot of you guys inspiration and help to accomplish my most successful build thus far.

So far I’ve screen shotted a few stands that I’ve been looking to diy!

I’m thinking for this build that I would like to purchase a Redsea 300 dc skimmer to run it found a guy on the local market place that has one for $200 bucks can’t refuse .

I’m going to do a 60 gallon breader and turn into my sump with the 60 gallon ref baffle kit

I’m open to ideas pleas tell me where I’m going wrong

Welcome, looks like you're off to a good start. Overbuild the frame of your stand for peace of mind, you won't regret it.

TANK IS 72X24X24 IM THINKING ABOUT 76 LONG BY 30 TALL X 30 TO THE WALL SO I CAN HAVE A 4 INCH LIP OVER ALL AND CENTER THE TANK
SOUNDS GOOD, THE LIP SHOULD BE USEFUL FOR PLACING TANK MAINTENACE ITEMS ETC, JUST MAKE SURE THE STAND IS PROPERLY FRAMED SO THE WEIGHT OF THE TANK STILL RESTS ON STRUCTURALLY SUPPORTED FRAMING

I was out of the hobby for 15 years, and christened a 180 setup earlier this year. Went with same 60 breeder sump and rsk skimmer. I’d say my favorite piece of eqpt to come along in reefing is the rollermat. Running 2 Jeabo return pumps working well. Also enjoying the Red Sea ATO. Pump is loud, but tunze osmolator 3 wasn’t out yet. One thing I learned the hard way is make sure you have an emergency for your overflow. My old tank was just a dersa and the new one is a bean animal. GL with your build. Stand looks great.

I went overkill on those. 2 x MDP-20000. I got a deal on them and run them at 1/2 power. 1” return lines and set up for redundancy if one of them fails. Tried a 13000 and it worked well. My setup is SPS dominant and didn’t really know how much flow I’d need as the wavemakers have also greatly advanced in the past 10 years. I like the rswaves if you don’t mind having a bar hanging on the side haha
