So I am slowly getting my 120 together. Its a slow process since I am in no rush. Finished up most of the plumbing underneath but I still have to plumb the top half. I plan on transferring all my
Neptune equipment over to this tank. Picked up a Trigger Ruby 36 and I must say I love the space. Ended up putting Special Grade sand in today. My biggest
Concern right now is aquascape. I have live rock that has been in a Brute for over a year but I want to make sure I make it look good since the tank has so much space. Aquascaping is like landscaping there are so many ways to make it look good but it takes so many tries to get that, oh yeah that’s it feeling.

Yeah I’m loving the amount of space compared to my 90. I ended up using the 2 factory holes to do my herbie overflow. Going to run an external return over the top of the tank. So much more to do though.

Looking forward to see how it plays out.
My 120 is 28 months old now.
Just setup a 30 gal remote fuge.
I remember when it was empty and now their is no more room.
Keep your thread updated.
I love to see tanks from start to fully grown in.

Absolutely will. I have almost everything I need except for the powerheads. As much as I love my MP10’s I know they are too small for this tank and the mp40’s are so expensive. I may opt for the Neptune Wav’s.

Thanks. Its a work in progress for sure.
I always recommend that anyone setting up a system has a plan and sticks to it. Pick your parameters and focus on keeping them stable.
It took me a year to get everything I needed berfore adding water but it makes life easier. Small changes along the way are inevitable.
I had the halide system from day one but did not put it online for a year.

Look at the jeabo 0W-40's. I run 2 and have 2 backups. I run ow-25's in my 45 frag system with 2 backups and just put a ow-10 in my remote fuge.
Im a Tunze guy but the jeabo pumps with controllers are pretty good for the money, imo.

I have some of the smaller Jebaos on my smaller tank and they have been good to me, but I’m a Neptune freak and love having control of them though my Neptune. Ultimately I want the Mp40’s but I just can’t justify spending that money right now.

So all plumbing is officially done I think. Still have to plumb reactors but that’s in the future. Don’t need those now. Here is how I ended up running my external return with the Neptune 1” flow meter. Painted my pipe with flat black spray paint. Just have to touch up a couple areas where I had to glue

Well yesterday I had the time to pull the rock from the Brute and aquascape. Placed all the rock and used some white spray foam in areas the rock wasn’t that stable. Foam dried and rock work is now solid. Slowly added water and still need to add about 50 more gallons this was a slow process since I was using several 5 gallon buckets to transfer water from my RODI station to the tank.

So water is in tank is running and skimmer is foaming! Hopefully that stops soon
Going to slowly start transferring Neptune stuff from 40 to this tank. Just trying to get all other misc stuff in order before I start. Then I have to tear down my AIO tank and put fish in here.

Well this past weekend I had some time to mount and run some of the wiring for my Neptune modules. Still a work in progress with the wiring but starting to come together.
just threw a large sponge in the sump from my breeder tank to speed up the seeding process.

Woohoo. We have nitrates after only a few days. I used filtration from my established tank and it looks like it only took a few days to get everything up and running. Will dose 1ppm ammonia today and recheck tomorrow before adding a fish but it looks promising. Also noticing pods running around on rock in sump most likely from the foam pad I stuck down there.

That’s still up on the air. Not sure yet. I have a yellow tang and a mated pair of Mocha storm clowns that I will be transferring into this tank but as far as anything else I’m not sure.

Well Apex is officially transferred onto new tank and all programmed. Wiring is the best I can get it but when doors closed who can tell. Thank you JD120988 for the dragons breath. Now it’s almost time to transfer fish. AWC also all hooked up and ready to go
