Picked up a 125 gallon tank for free from a guy in town who wanted to get rid of it because he wasn’t in town enough to take care of it. It needs cleaned out. It will be drilled by a guy I know who has done it before (hope for no cracking). I just ordered a reef octopus 110 for the sump I will be building. I will also be building a new stand for it. Not sure of the fish and corals that will be kept in it other than my fish in the current tank I have. Stay tuned...

I’m having someone drill my tank in the near future. What equipment should I have when it is time to drill tank?

If you are going to be adding a Overflow box, you might want to have that before the drilling starts so that you know where you need to drill at. You might also want to have your bulkheads handy before the drilling as well.

Looking at sump designs. Not getting too fancy, just efficient. This is something I found on the internets. Is there anything that is a must for the sump? I plan on having a reef tank.

Hooked up the buddy system today. Testing it out with a 5 gallon bucket.

Painted the back of my tank and noticed a little line that wasn’t really being filled with black. It is a scratch that I never noticed. I got this tank when it was full and had to drain it. Does anyone think it’s something to worry about?

Getting the sump fitted. Any input on what I have or what you would change is appreciated. I have read on here that 6-10” of water is optimal for this skimmer.

Getting more equipment in for 125 build. Still need to drill drains and returns. Also, need to attach overflow. After that is complete, I need to plumb it. Then should be ready for sand and water.

Had some bubbling up on the back of my tank from spray painting it black. I decided to scrape all the paint off. I also decided to drill my tank myself. It’s far from perfect and my last hole worried me a little as the drill slipped, but think will work in the long run. I drilled two drains and 2 returns. I plan on flipping the tank and glueing my overflow box in tomorrow. After that has time to dry I will add my bulkheads.
