Sorry for the dirty glass. Figured it was time for an update. I went through a bad dino outbreak that took a couple corals from me. From what I've seen dinos hit a bunch of people this time reading other's post. But now I'm back and things haven't looked happier. I ran a 5 day blackout followed by several weeks of 6hr actinics only and now I'm adding a bit of white back but being cautious, I've only got them on for 1.5hrs now. Blues are 8hrs. I use SB reef lights for those interested. I added a few fish but not much luck. I'm better with coral than fish to be honest. I think my qt had too many nitrates and it affected most of the fishes' gills and some came down with bacterial infections. I'm learning, but I'm not proud of my fish husbandry.
Coral colors are better than ever because I've been dosing red sea color program. With that I tested with triton icp and it came back strontium/molybdenum/iodine/zinc being low so I got a few products to help. Lithium was also super high so not sure there. Test stated that could be from feeding, but I'm unsure what to do other than water changes. I feed a blend of frozen foods and omega one pellets. Any foods you guys recommend? Anyway I hope yall enjoy the pics and hopefully I can get some clearer ones soon to really show the difference. It's getting there!
Ps. That's Phil the trachyphyllia I got from worldwide corals. That guy is a stunner!
