This is a thread for my oldest tank, my 14 gallon oceanic biocube. It was my very first tank back in 2013 and is still with me! (Was restarted back in ~2018 due to dinos) This tank was set back up as my coral/invert qt, but since I wasn’t adding much of either to my DT lately, I decided to make it it’s own reef. This tank is centered around the yasha goby and pistol shrimp pair. I also have a cleaner and sargassum shrimp in there as well. Most of the corals in this tank are either things that I didn’t want in my DT anymore(Xenia....), things that didn’t do well, or duplicates of colonies in my DT. As the title implies, this tank’s centerpiece is the Xenia tree, which is growing on a shelf coming off the main pillar. It is quite the task making sure it stays where it’s supposed to be! As far as equipment, the tank is lit by an AI prime as well as natural sun light in the early evening. For flow, there is an upgrade return pump(forgot the name, but it was from Amazon) and a Hydor koralia nano. Maintenance consists of WCs every 2weeks, cleaning the glass, and changing the carbon. (Don’t mind the RS, just got back from a 3 week vacation and the tank sitter doesn’t do WCs)

So I’m sad to report that my candy cane pistol is gone. Had the little guy for 4 yrs and however old he was before. Found him dead outside the burrow, no injuries that I could see all other shrimp act fine. Looking to find another but everywhere online seems to be out of stock and WWC isn’t sure if they’ll get any on this next order or not(comes in Tuesday).

Fantastic-- love the tree! I'm trying to start one, but I know I have a long ways (time) to go.
