If anyone would like to follow my build log of my tank please follow here! This will be my first dive into saltwater. I do keep freshwater tanks so i know the basics and have done a lot of research.

Purchased tank for $125. On 9/13/20
That night started vinegar and water bath for tank and tank accessories. Also started bleach and water rock. Threw out sand.

On 9/14/20 started to scrub away at build up in tank.

9/16/20 decided on our stocking (pictures fro LiveAquria)
1 Clownfish (unk variety)
1 Wheeler Goby
1 Pistol shrimp
1 Blood Red Fire shrimp
1 Electric Blue hermit crab
1 Halloween Hermit crap
3-4 Snails (unk variety)

Added sand rock and water today! Today the cycle starts!

Thanks for the interest! Today the water is completely clear! Will be doing a parameters test today just to get a baseline.

I just need to find a good magnetic glass cleaner for my tank and get the skimmer and it should be done minus stock and corals.

Our tank is completely cycled as of today! 10/07/2020.

In 2 weeks we will add our second additions. A goby and pistol shrimp!

Had to set up a warm/cooling inkbird for the tank. It has been keeping the perfect temp of 25c

10/12/2020 update

Upgraded from a 14gal to 32gal biocube!
Added more rock and will be adding more in a few days.

Congrats on the ugrade!!

It was a HUGE fight just to start the hobby. I have a High tech plant tank thats FW and had to fight for 6months for the little guy. Then when we got it and started she was all about going bigger. This is where we stop though. We don’t won’t to deal with a sump in the current house. When we move we are getting a 180gal. Hopefully 2023 we have a new house.

Added 20lbs of rock! Slowly getting together. Also added a royal gramma.

This is a 3 part update.

2 weeks ago we added 13 pieces of coral. All 13 are perfectly healthy and growing! We are
currently doing a full 7 part test for parameters to see if we need to start dosing.

In conjunction with the above we took out the old
Crappy “media tray” and replaced it with a inTank media try and refugium area. Added some red algae to the refuguim and put a grow light on the glass on opposite hours of the main light.

10/29/2020 added new light.

We decided to take the top off the tank and add a new light. We got a cover by Kraken with a feeding hole. For the light we got a very good deal on a used Prime 16HD. Currently running acclimation mode. In 30 days will start playing with color settings. Will probably run a modified Pirate settings.

light has been broken in and now we are running pirates of the Caribbean.
We also added a Purple firefish and a 2 spot goby. Tank is really coming together. Will be picking up a frogspawn and a toadstool leather in the very near future.
