150 gallon build road bump

Hi all I am piecing together a reef ready Aqueon 150. I have or thought I had everything to get up and going. I had a local person make a stand for me and somewhere along the lines there was a misunderstanding in what space I needed under the tank. After I received the stand I learned the 40 gallon breeder I had planned to use as the sump will not fit along with my roller mat. My question to the reef minds is, can I use a 20 gallon long as the sump? All the equipment I have already purchased will fit in it and it will fit under the tank with the roller mat. If a 20 long will not work does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do from here to solve my sump issue? The stand looks great I am very happy with it I just need to pivot and solve this. Thank you all!!

Sorry to hear I would stay with the 40 personaly

easy fix: ditch the rollermat and use filter socks or cups for your mechanical filtration

If your up for a challenge and depending on your space and situation maybe plumb your roller mat in a different cabinet set up next to your stand that then drains to your sump or plumb a remote sump that’s not under you display

I would use a 29 gallon over a 20 long for the extra volume and safety for when the return pump is off. Or better yet but less common and more expensive a 40 long. Assuming the tank width is why the breeder won’t fit.

Thank you for the input. I decided to for go the roller mat and use the funds of that towards a trigger sump that has better dimensions to fit underneath.
