150 MH or 175 MH

How much better would 175's be over 150's? Thinking about making a small upgrade but not sure if its worth it. This would go over my sps tank

A 150 is a d/e bulb and a 175 is a single ended bulb. Most double ended 150 lamps will put out more par than a 175 s/e. Also 150 is newer technology and has a allot more bulb choices. Also you save money on energy. No contest a 150...

Ive never ran 175's or 150's.....but I have been hearing amazing things about the iwasaki 14k 175. it pouts out as much par as any 250 watt bulb in its kelvin rating.

Ive never been a fan of DE bulbs though anyway. ya...they put out more light...until you have to cover them with glass to protect the tank from uv then the gain isnt much if any

I had DE bulbs for three months then sold them and got my SE bulbs. I will never go back to DE bulbs They do not live up to the hype
