Always love reading the stocking lists interested in thoughts on mine. Nearing the end of my 3 months fallow and finalising my ideas. Mixed reef 72 inches x 24 deep x 22 height. I am well aware of the risks to my corals with these angels that I don't need telling lol

Current fish

Black leopard wrasse
Flame hawk

Fish purchased / in qt

Leopard wrasse
Mandarin
Copperband
Regal angel

Planned stocking

Midas blenny
Melanurus wrasse
Scribbled anthias x 5
Purple moon angel or blue face
Rock beauty
Scopas tang
Convict tang

Perhaps one more tang although not sure if it's wise to add another zebrasoma / acanthurus and none of the bristletooth tangs do it for me. Maybe with the exception of the white tail but not for what it costs.

A pair of gold nugget maroon clowns would be nice but maybe pushing it for numbers plus apparently difficult to pair?

Any thoughts on the Scribbled anthias in terms of aggression and any other types I should consider ?

Picture to show scape, may add more rockwork if necessary to create more hiding spots although the centre section has lots of holes throughout.

Blue face are too big and territorial for that size tank. So I would get the purple instead.

Another tang should be fine to add imo.

Rock beauty’s have very strict feeding diets that make it difficult to keep so I would pass on it.

Everything else looks fine.

I had considered the blue face as a backup to the purple moon as the purple could potentially get bigger but never considered aggression.

Have done some homework on the rock beauty and seen mixed reports on success. Buying small seems to be key and providing food with sponge ? Was more concerned with the convict tang in terms of starvation at least the rock beauty could eat some corals if he was hungry lol !

Id add another acanthurus is possible but one that was less likely to wipe out my tank again ! But if fully qt'd am i overthinking things. Still wouldnt risk a powder or achilles.

Clowns should be fine. I would just get them last or close to last.

Definitely last if I do once I see how I'm doing for space I don't think anything would mess with them ! Just don't seem to ever see mated pairs of the gold nuggets

Here's my stock list for my 125, similar dimensions to yours. I added most of my fish on the smaller side and have been letting them grow. I did a lot of Anthias research, and came up with the Dispars as my choice, they eat twice a day, and don't fight among the 3 of them. Bought 3 females, one turned male quickly, and another seems to have half transitioned to male but isn't dominant. Also have a Sunburst and Borbonius. NYAquatic has Borbonius pretty cheap right now, and mine came in healthy and good sized, sold as a 1-2" fish. It is the fish most commented on in my tank, really cool looking. Only change I may make is taking out the Male swallowtail angel, he just looks huge in the tank, and switch for a flame or potters. Anyways, see below, 22 fish in total, no aggression. Tangs and Angels added last, Dragonet after about 18 months.

Will check out the dispars thanks. So far so good with the convicts ? Without meaning to offend I'm personally not a fan of the borbonious ( angry mob forming I'm sure ! ) and live in UK they are over £300 over here I think. Would pay good money for a potters but draw the line at over £1000 for a half inch captive bred frag lol

Yeah just one convict and he only eats nori, but he absolutely destroys it. I got the borbonius for $150 US, wouldn't have bought one either! Once I saw it in my tank though, it does really stand out. A sunburst is pretty cool too, and smaller if you want something a little different. And yeah, forgot Potters were that much. Flame angel it is!
