Hey guys! I'm just about ready to start setting up my tank. I got an 18 gallon cadlight that I'm currently building a pedestal for out of cherry so that it matches all the wood work in my home. I will be using a Kessil 360, hydor slim skim nano, and I've got a eheim 1000 to help increase flow rate from back chamber. I'll keep some pictures coming as it goes. Here is a picture of the stand I'm working on......

I'm kind of at a loss right now. Wanted to play it by ear. I also have a 60 gallon rimless that I'm taking my time with in the build so I'm thinking some things may transfer over once thats setup. But I've truly always loved ground cover in tanks so definitely some softies and I also want to see about possibly making some gorgonian happy in there as well. I'm going to look for some snowflake clowns to start with.

Sounds very nice. I always love checking out the small tanks at some of our local reef shops that are full of interesting softies and LPS. Following along...

Ok....so today I got my pedestal finish coats on and got everything set up. I've attached some photos. I didn't make the pedestal as nice as I wanted to but it works for now. Literally took me about an hour to put together so I'm fine with it. Also may eventually put another outlet behind the 3 dimensional cherry wall so the cord doesn't have to be where I cook. otherwise super happy. The kessil shimmer is AMAZING and I couldn't be happier so far. I'll be putting a small fuge area in the back compartment later this week with some chaeto. I'll keep updating as we move along. Also got some Iced Mocha clowns to get things rolling.

Well I haven't posted in a while. Unfortunately my tank got a crack in it. And while awaiting its replacement I decided to setup my 60 gallon. But in the meantime I've upgraded the base and I'm pretty excited about it
